Inside the museum, which still retains its Victorian style, rare items are on display including watches, navigation equipment, historic photographs, pendulums, a 1904 hand pump, long armed chairs used in waiting rooms and Dak bungalows, kerosene lamps, gate signal lamps, crockery, long armed chairs. Interesting stuff indeed!
Among the photographs hanging on the walls are pictures of Afghan King Amir Abdur Rahman at the Rawalpindi Railway Station in 1886. Others show the passing of a steam train through the Khyber Pass in the late nineteenth century
Majority of the displayed items belong to the North West Railways dating back to year 1890. The attempt is to preserve and display vintage items and artefacts at this Heritage Point.

Outside museum hall contains items on display including: a hand pump of 1901, 110-year-old narrow gauge steam locomotive, 100-year-old hand crane, passenger and freight coaches, a ‘Heritage Special Train’ which was driven by an ancient steam engine , saloons and steam cranes.
The Golra railway museum’s 110-year-old steam engine was in regular use as early as in 1990 and is still in running condition. 100-year-old hand crane was tested for lifting 508kg weight in 1984 and an old signboard, of 20th century, at railway museum Golra advertises making of hot tea in 5 different written scripts; English, Devnagri, Urdu, Gormukhi and Bengali.

The Golra railway heritage museum Pakistan lies at some 1,994 feet above sea level. The Golra Sharif railway station was established in 1882 connecting Peshawar, Kohat and Havalian.
The small, stone platform of the Victorian style railway station and the surrounding area still reminds of the good old days and simple layout. This railway museum offers an extensive tour around two museum halls; Inside museum hall and outside museum hall.
